Home Vists

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions we are not able to offer home visits at present to protect both yourselves and our staff. Please ring the practice if you have any queries.

We will endeavour to meet any request for a home visit to examine an animal, especially when travel may cause undue distress if the animal is already unwell. However, in most instances, full treatment and investigations can only be carried out at the surgery and this would be discussed at the time. Please telephone and speak with reception who will organise the visit, and explain the visit charges.

Hospitalisation

If your pet is poorly they may be admitted for hospitalisation so that we can give them the treatment and care that they need.

We have separate dog and cat wards at both practices with comfortable kennelling for this purpose.

Hospitalisation can involve an overnight stay. Our vets and nurses are on site throughout a normal working day to check on your pet, however, outside of normal working hours we are unable to provide continuous onsite care. We can offer hospitalisation overnight/weekends at our own clinics where scheduled checks will be carried out by a vet or veterinary nurse based on individual patients’ needs.

If we feel that 24-hour care is necessary, or if this is something that you would prefer for your pet, our out of hours provider, Vets Now are able to offer this service.

The Vets Now clinic is fully staffed by vets and nurses who only work out of hours and as they have not already worked a day shift, they are fresh and available to deal with poorly pets at night, weekends, and bank holidays.  The teams at Vets Now Telford & Stoke have been recognised as outstanding providers of emergency veterinary care by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

Should you wish for your pet to be transferred to Vets Now, our vets can arrange this with the local Vets Now clinic and yourselves. You will need to transport your pet to the local Vets Now clinic and collect them when they are discharged.

More information about Vets Now here and on our Out of Hours page.
